I was not a big fan of Twitter when I first heard about it a couple of years ago. I thought, along with lots of other people, who cares “What I am doing Now”. To be honest sometimes I don’t even want to know what I’m doing now!
But after a couple of months of Tweeting, I realize that the question “What are you doing now” is a bit misleading. When you first hear the question, the automatic reaction to answering it is from a literal interpretation.
If you spend a little time looking at the timelines of the most successful Tweeters, you’ll quickly realize that almost no one answers the question literally. Every once in a while someone will tell you what they’re doing now. But most of the tweets are bits and pieces of information intended to be helpful, informative or simply entertaining.
5 Question to Help You Write Tweets
If you’re stuck on what to Tweet, consider these 5 questions as alternatives to get you started:
- How can you be helpful?
- What’s got your attention and why?
- What’s interesting, or funny, of valuable that you can link to?
- What’s cool?
- What’s frustrating?
Before you know it you’ll be tweeting your heart out and never ever think about “What are you doing now?” And most importantly, you’ll begin to build a following becasue of your interesting Tweets!
